Jed Lind's debut solo exhibition, A False Dawn,is the artist's first show in Toronto. Born in Toronto, Jed Lind currently lives and works in Los Angeles. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, Lind’s work Limelight has been acclaimed by Los Angeles Times’ critic Christopher Knight as an accomplished piece with conceptual depth and meaning by an emerging artist. Limelight pertains to the artist’s experiments in the California desert with actual limelight (used to illuminate stages in the early days of cinema). This haunting two-screen video projection examines a brief technological moment and the implications of its obsolescence in our perception of time, space and ultimately, nature. Lind will also show a related series of photographs and sculptures.
